The real story of the retired soldier portrayed here is in some ways a metaphor for the way in which society view disability. We see the hero; we don’t see what is hidden beneath the hardened surface. If the images do nothing more than make the viewer pause, then I have achieved a small step to the plight of the lives of the forgotten soldiers.
There is nothing more painful than to see the results of political power, unfortunately politicians do not pay for their action, but the SOLDiers!
