I photographed these anxious kids on a beach in Ise Japan just moments before they began their rigorous and completely flawless karate practice. There were hundreds of students on this beach gathered into groups, quietly talking, laughing, poking, and prodding, waiting for the command to begin. Such a juxtaposition!
