This is cropped from a larger picture, it dropped to the ground soon after I took it. It was already dead.

Gorgeous image Debbie! If I notice the dark "blob" at the top changes the image - it makes it grittier and more real. It also draws the eye away from the main subject because of its contrasting tone and complex shape. I wonder what effect this would have if you cropped it out.
