Going to visit the nearby Monongahela national forest is paradise for our family. The light pollution is very low here and offers some of the best night sky viewing on the entire east coast.
The center of the Milky Way Galaxy from the mountains of West Virginia around 12:30 am on the 4th of July.
My son and I were really excited to see this image. Our camera was able to see more stars than our eyes.
Taken with a Canon 5D Mark II and a Sigma 28mm fixed at f/1.8 and 30 seconds exposure.
Astrophotography from the Mountains and Forests.
