No doubt Trevi Fountain is the most famous fountain in Rome and considered by many the most beautiful. This dramatic masterpiece was completed in 1762 and based on a design by Bernini. Due to the death of Pope Urban VIII, Bernini wasn’t able to bring his magnificent creation to life. Then a century later, 1732, Pope Clement XII commissioned Nicola Salvi to create a large fountain at Piazza Trevi. Salvi was deeply inspired by Bernini’s original design for this square. The monumental baroque fountain was completed in 1762.

The first two times I visited Trevi Fountain the mass of people there prevented me from getting a straight on shot of this incredible work of art. My third trip there proved to be all I hoped for. When my daughter, son-in-law, granddaughters and I arrived at Fontana di Trevi, we almost had the fountain to ourselves, plus early morning light and shadow bathed its beautiful features.

Deborah, you are indeed lucky to have a good shot at this. And talented to have waited for the perfect moment ;-) We were there in 1967 or 68, and even then it was mobbed. I hope my coin is still in there - have to get back someday.
