We were having lunch in the restaurant behind this little square, and noticed the young adults collecting water with a big bowl from a fountain. After we finished off our delicious salads and sangria, we went out and saw the kids playing and taking a bath in the middle of Alfama. Its the oldest district in Lisbon, Portugal, and composed of lovely, narrow streets. The decoration, which hangs there for several weeks during festas periods, provided little shade, but a refreshing dip in the middle of a hot day is worth everything.
