Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

This image was taken using a glass block as a filter. The water tower was photographed through a glass block. It was then toned blue to give it a cool icy feeling. I've used glass blocks as a filter for the camera as well as for printing in the darkroom. This image was taken on Halsted Street in Chicago.
