This camel either sits in the pen all day or gets dressed up in a saddle and monkey suit to give kids rides. What a life. Tied to a wall or standing in the sun waiting to give someone a ride. How stuck can you get? I feel sorry for the animal but if they stopped this the camel would most likely be put down. Just like a lot of thoroughbred horses are when they are no longer useful. There are just not enough homes even if they are given away. The place where we board our horse has 5 rescue thoroughbreds. The owner can’t take any more.

How terribly sad, Joe. No one should be treated this way. Slavery! I agree with submitting this to the newspaper. There are rescues all the time in Vermont of mistreated animals. So who knows what would happen if more people knew about this poor camel.

Wonderful but sad, Joe. It's gotten so that I can't even go to a zoo anymore. I just hate seeing all the animals locked up!

Why are people even allowed to use animals this way any more? This kind of abuse should be past history in this day and age... yet we still have every imaginable type of animal being treated as a commodity, all over the world. How they suffer for human greed, vanity and ignorance! An excellent capture of a most unfortunate, but incredibly beautiful camel! Thanks for sharing his story..

I agree with everything Warren, and everyone else said!! This should NOT be allowed to continue and I believe if all of us from JPG wrote to the SPCA they would see that this poor, tortured animal is given a home.....even a zoo where he could move about would be better than this!!!! I am very angry by scenes such as this. These animals hurt and feel pain and sadness. Please....let's see that the camel who is living in utter despair and misery is offered a measure of our kindness!!!!!!
