    Must be New York. I've seen movies of NYC with patrolmen on horseback. Used to have them in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. It was pleasant, organic...or as organic as cops can be...kids loved to come up and talk to the officers and stroke the horses' muzzles. Ecomics, I think, more than anything else removed this friendly police/citizen interface. My view...if it works, don't fix it. When I'm President...

    Yes, it is NYC... the horse "shied" just as I took the photo. We used to have them in Portland (Maine) but now the patrolmen ride bicycles instead. Ah... progress??? (Bikes don't leave plops in the street, I guess...) :)
