I was 8 years old and in the third grade old when this portrait was shot by a photographer in 1952 who went around to all of the schools in that area...
Mother who is 101 years old is in a rest home now ...My sister and I have been
sharing pictures of the past that Mom had in her belongings. This is one of them...
I remember very clearly that I had my first short hair cut in a beauty shop in the little town where I grew up. The beautician's name was Marie and she had just moved into town that year ... She was a very talented lady who also had a beautiful singing voice. She cut off all of my long curls and I also lost some baby teeth that same year:)
