Asian Pacific Economic Committee.(APEC) Protests. Sydney, Australia, 2007.

The powers that be tried to limit the movemant of Sydney-siders through the city during the meeting. Measures included 3m high fences, a huge police presence including snipers on the rooftops and ban a public protest against the visiting leaders of the APEC nations. The attempted ban had the opposite effect. The protest swelled with people who then marched against the attempted ban. Many people saw the ban as a infringement on the democratic rights of free speech and protest. With placards and voices as their tools 10,000 people took to the streets while 3,000 police watched over them.
