A spring plant flourishes in a wall of the ancient Imperial Palace from the Nguyễn Dynasty in Huế. This Nguyễn Dynasty fortress by the Perfume River was site of the longest and bloodiest battles during Vietnam War, suffering severe damage from US aerial bombing and decades of neglect by the Vietnamese after the war.
