Canet Rock Festival is a great outdoor concert inspired by the Woodstock was first held in July 1975 and which took place over three sessions, always in Canet de Mar (Barcelona). To some represents the beginning of Catalan rock.

The first edition was still under the dictatorship of Franco and without government permission (it was expressly forbidden). He promised "twelve hours of music and madness." It is said that the lashing he collaborated in the organization, the Chamber Zeleste and peppers. The guest singers and groups (Maria del Mar Bonet, Pau Riba, Sisa, Compania Electrica Dharma Orchestra Silverware, etc..) Had in common transgression or, as I started to call themselves, counterculture, manifested mainly in the content the lyrics, using the style of rock and other styles do not like the government or the Church, and the use of Catalan (new song, rock laietà, etc.. Some belonged to what was laietà known as rock. It was the edition most crowded of all, some 40,000 people attended.
