montreal die-in
This photo is hot! Share it!
Where I live now I tend to hear about this stuff in advance. visiting my hometown of montreal yesterday I happened upon this mass die-in. I had been spending the day shooting headshots for a good friend when I lucked out on this. they were protesting the death of a cyclist on montreal street by a motorist.
It was incredible. They shut down rue ste. catherine in the late afternoon on a saturday. closed the city for ten minutres.
It was beautiful. I would say that it made a lot of montreal motorists angry, but that would mean the protesters really had no effect.

I really like it the people standing on the sides of the photo kinda ruined it for me but I know that's not your fault.

You know, I think the spectators are necessary in this for the message to get across. Spectating, and getting a message across to an audience is what it is all about. I have never heard of such a thing as a 'die in' before but it is a great idea. Great capture.

the thing i love most about this shot is that you do not have a clear shot on anyone's face. This helps you realize that that type of accident can happen to anyone if things continue the way they are.
