Up close and personal!! Super sharp capture, Judy. My male house finches are almost purple.

This one is a little faded, as I think he is beginning to molt. They are usually brightly colored with the pink side of red.

This is the time of the year when we see a lot of the birds molting where we live too...You got a nice close up of the house finch and even though he is molting he looks well fed and healthy.
