Seated atop giant pylons on Kansas City's Bartle Hall Convention Center, the Sky Stations have become a permanent part of the downtown skyline. Approximately 335 feet tall they are made of concrete and steel and cost the city a few million dollars. In the background you see the beautiful old Art Deco style Power and Light building constructed in 1931.
Designed (1994) by R. M. Fischer they also blend in very nicely with all the giant cranes currently being used to construct the new Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, just to the south.
