Q: Why are some of the contest photos obviously photoshopped?

A: Do you know?

dead storage....
~ as an eternal optimist it's difficult for me to say, but
after paying $350 for this mexican salvaged original california conversion 1967 dodge A108 van 7 long years ago and investing in it's repair over and over and over again to the tune of ( h e l p) $12k...I do believe it cannot be fixed.
so what does that mean?
it was destined to be a pull along tool box for me and now all I need is a tow hitch and a bigger van to pull it.
ps: ain't she sweeeet?

2011 new year's resolution: never say never. I WILL get it running this year.

in the early 90's I was part of a test group for kodak for an "instant slide film" that never got launched. it was hard to use/process..I remember two other "professional photogs" and I trying to process our rolls in the trunk of our car on a hot baltimore, MD afternoon - the little pod that had packet of processing goo exploded all over us and one guy ripped the film out of the leader box in anger (we ruined almost all rolls btw ) and a big gust of wind wrapped us all in the film we had shot all day like mummies.....whatta chemical moment that was...anyway...this manipulated image looks a lot like the b&w version of that kodak instant slide film...had a cool metal quality to it with warm midtones.

I feel the same way, and people who work on it start off feeling that way, but "she" becomes a thorn in their side...she's difficult.
