If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).

I was so happy to get a facebook message from my dear friend and jpger Maurie Alderson the other day. She and her husband David were coming from Arkansas to Atlanta to see the races in Atlanta. Newnan is only about an hour and a half away so of course I just had to meet them in person. Of course, with my crazy schedule, I forgot to tell my husband that we were going so when I flung it on him late Saturday he mentioned that we needed new tires on the car and it may not be a good idea. I am forever the optimist and trying to convert a pessimist and I was going if I had to walk. LOL. In my excitement, I barely slept that night and we were up an off the next morning. My optimism did not quite get us there. We wound up broke down on a hill on a road with no shoulder to speak up. I was too excited to worry though and my knight David and his fair lady Maurie came to the rescue. A tire was given to me by the tire company and before long we were on the road again. We had a great time visiting and thanks to the blow out had more time than originally planned. I do hope to see them both again very soon. Thank you David and Maurie.
This image was taken by my husband in front of the Cracker Barrel in Newnan, Georgia.
