Snapped this shot of Ashlyn (my five-year-old granddaughter) at a Dallas neighborhood school playground just after she was told it was time to go home. Despite the extreme heat, she wanted to play some more.

Note for my JPG friends: Following two months at my home in Dallas, I head back to Rome this Saturday. I’m going through my usual transitional mixed bag of emotions: looking forward to being with Fred and exploring more of Italy, but dreading having to say goodbye again to my daughter, son-in-law, and two granddaughters. No doubt with traveling, jetlag, and getting resettled, I’ll get behind on checking out and commenting on your latest photos.

Excellent! The heat doesn't seem to bother children as much as it does us older folks!

LOL.....I can relate so well to that! My grandkids are exactly the same way....they never want to leave!

This shot is so interesting, as it really doesn't look like Ashlyn.

Cute shot and memory...She is at the age where children really love playground equipment and I can relate to that in my own childhood when my folk's used to live across from the grade school I attended..I practically lived in the playground during the summer months..We moved to another house with property when I was 7 years old and life changed.
