This woman spins wool the old fashioned way during a September festival in Woodbury Ct.
I used a fairly slow shutter speed to represent the speed of the wheel and yet making sure
parts of the wheel wouldn't obscure the woman's face. She is spinning wool right after a
sheep was sheared. I love the simplicity of the photo, the red barn and the doors being
opened gave me a jet black background keeping your eye focuses on the man subject.
It's got somewhat of a 3-D effect as your eye goes intially to the wheel, then the woman and
background. All these elements work well to produce a really nice story-telling photo, although not a Pulitzer I'm glad I shot it and hope you all enjoy it as well. Michael Asaro photo
