There I was wandering around eastern Long Island when I got to thinking, "How did we ever survive before cell phones?"

Great shot John and I wonder that same thing myself when I am tempted to throw mine out.

We actually TALKED more, and concentrated on driving more, and knew lessa bout each other (which in many cases was a good thing!) Apart from the social comment, I love this shot.

Or computers, or iPods, or GPS, or DVRs. Your photo is a perfect reminder that we should disconnect once in a while, and enjoy the beauty around us

most excellent JL.....first time I saw a cell phone, Jordan & I were on a ride at Epcot, with my parents. My thoughts turned to "The Jetson's" - we've come a long way baby ~ !!! ;)

Wonderful photograph and great idea! My husband and I are maxed out on technology. We're done with it. No updating anything. I only use my cell when I have a honestly urgent need (like the car breaks down). I'm sick and tired of seeing kids texting....even in movies, the darned texters light up the theater!!! It's disgusting that kids are so ungodly overweight because they never run and play. I say dump the whole lot of it!!!!!!!! (Sorry for the rant, but your photo is a perfect example.) Thanks for posting!

Tell that to young adults and teens....they are seriously addicted. This is still a great shot.
