We've had a large number of very creepy spiders along the riverbank this year. Good for photography... not so good for arachnophobes (like me!).

also, we've been invaded (so to speak) by similar-looking spiders. There are at least four big ones along the entry to my mom's winter home and they seem to sew a bright white zipper in the middle of thier webs. Where is this photo taken?

This is in Maine... and yes, the zipper shape is in the web. There were several at different times along the riverbank this summer.
