Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

Know therefore this day and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord He is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.
Deuteronomy 4: 39

A Dahlia bloomed again
In spite of too much rain
This flower revived
With a lot less sun...
Tho' we have only one
Plant like this...
The plans were revised.
It was not through yet.
God did not set a limit
But gave more time
For one of a kind...
To show how earthly
As well as worthy
One single flower is...
Poetry by me, AJP

I was greatly surprised today to see that this yellow Dahlia bloomed a second time after I thought it was done for the season...I also thought Dahlia's thrived on sunshine, but I was proven wrong ...We've had a very rainy season this year.

I shot this picture beneath the Dahlia with my old Macro focusing Zoom 75-300 Vivitar Mount film lens, which also fits my Nikon D40x camera. It is fun to experiment with the lighting and the manual focusing.
