Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

Photo of a red tractor (McCormick Farmall it said on the side) I saw in Alexandria, NH. This was sitting in the center of town on a hot, sunny, summer day just begging to be photographed. I like how the light was segmented up into this grid of light, and how the image is reversed putting the sky at the bottom and ground at the top. I'm pretty sure this piece of equipment was in working order, but just gets parked there when not in use.

Taken with my Nikon D5000, f/10, 1/400th sec, 200 ISO.
