Constructed during the Art Deco phase of Long Beach, California's building boom and now, in it's semi-neglected state, this building still manages to carry off the style and class that were the hallmarks of 1930's art and architecture. You can almost sense the ladies in their hats and gloves and the men in their suits and Fedora hats.

Elegance, charm and a certain innocence lost. Art Deco seemed represent who we were. Great shot.

I looked at the trees and figured it wasn't Miami. Avoided LB like the plague. Didn't think anything like this "lived" there!

May, most of the downtown area of Long Beach, CA is Deco era, especially the old shopping area where the Woolworth store and Kresge's were located. Glad you liked the shot.
