Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

Becky - My home backs to a wooded wetlands area and I enjoy watching the average backyard birds, but when the chance came to visit this wildlife preserve where the Greater Sandhill Cranes Migrate, I jumped at the chance. In a matter of approximately 1-1/2 hours, we must have seen between 2-3000 thousand of the cranes either cross our path or land in the field before us. We were told that the last week of October in the same location, one can see approximately 8-10,000 cranes!
