Overall the fall colors of Italy are subtle, so when I happen upon splashes of yellow or red in landscape scenes I get excited. Those colors bring back the falls of my youth in the Chicago area and those of the years I lived in Maine. The most spectacular fall reds I’ve come across in Italy are those of creeping vines on medieval or ancient stone walls. Captured these beauties on a 12th century wall at Borgo La Bagnaia, the resort near Siena where my husband worked for over two years.
