Taken from our yard, which they cross over each morning, as they travel from one lake to another. This region is one of the major nesting areas of the trumpeter swan and a resting spot for migrating trumpeter and tundra swans. To be able to see and hear them like this is my idea of paradise!
I have to add.. that not only are swans a magical sight to see in flight, they literally glimmer in the sky, but they constantly communicate with one another in the air and on water. The sounds they make are incredibly beautiful, in line with the call of the loon, and unforgettable.
Thank you Robert Sand for the spotlight!! It is very much appreciated.

Stunning how straight their necks are. I've never seen these birds ... nearest we have in flight appearance --- Canada Geese.
