Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the to the bones. Proverbs 17:24

-------------------------------

How well I remember
Last year in December
Getting sick with a cold.
When you can't withhold
Sneezing and wheezing
It is not too pleasing...

Drinking hot tea...
With lemon and honey
Worked better for me
Than spending money
For cold medicines...
It has been almost a year
And you, my friends,
Can see I am still here!
Poetry by me, AJP
---------------------------------------------

This self portrait was a practice shot that I did for the 1/365 photo diary series last year but did not post until now.

I was sicker than a dog for the first time in several years with a bad cold... I hate to be sick! Ugh!!!

But there is not much you can do for a common cold except to drink lots of
liquids, get your rest and try to think pleasant thoughts:)

Sounds like that tea is powerful stuff! This is a perfect solution to the problem and a spot-on entry for the category.

Thank you everyone for your comments...I am not sick now Ann...That was last year ...December 1st to be exact. .Yes, Donald's chicken noodle soup recipe is very good any time of the year...if you are sick or not. Donald, I see your comment after I answered Ann's and you wouldn't believe this but I was thinking about making some chicken noodle soup today..The weather has been very damp and bone chilling the last two days ...

This is a wonderful remedy, Andrea! Nice capture for the theme. A dear British friend of mine swears by hot toddies. According to her, when you feel a cold coming on, you take an aspirin and drink a cup of hot water with one ounce each of whiskey, lemon, and honey. I tried it. What really happens is that you don't care if you have a cold.
