I always stop by Arlington National Cemetery whenever I visit the Washington, D.C. area. I have a permanent pass, and I keep it in my briefcase.
I was in Washington all of last week. As I left The Mayflower Hotel Sunday morning, I drove south to Constitution Avenue and then west to the Lincoln Memorial. I crossed the Arlington Memorial Bridge and continued west to the Cemetery. I was waved through security and drove straight to Section 66. (That’s easy to remember. Dad loved “Route 66.â€)
The Cemetery was beautiful. There was still quite a bit of color. And it was so quiet. There was no one there! That would change the next day, with ceremonies remembering President Kennedy. (Please see previous post.)
Arlington is a national treasure. Visit when you can.
Here is wishing the entire JPG Family a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! We have a great group of people here. And a lot to be thankful for!
And thanks for stopping by!
