I am gone like the shadow when it declineth. I am tossed up and down as the locust...Psalms 109: 23

This afternoon at 3:30 our car got totaled...we hit a doe that came out of the ditch on the passenger side of our car where I was sitting and it smashed the hood and punctured one of the tires ..It was tossed 20 feet in the air and flew over the top of our roof...Thank God it missed the windshield, otherwise we may have been killed. It landed in the other traffic lane..The guy in the car behind us put on his brakes and hit the fawn that had been with the doe and both the doe and the fawn died from their injuries. He is very lucky the doe that we hit did not land on his car....He had minor damage to his car but we have about $1000 worth of damage on ours..It is an older car with a lot of mileage and not worth it to get it fixed. The man in the truck in front of us who saw the whole thing happen was incredulous that none of us were killed or hurt and he said UNBELIEVABLE when he came to see if we were okay....

I am still a little shook up but just thankful to be alive ...I feel badly about the doe and its fawn who lost their lives. It could have been so much worse.

Thank you everyone for your kind words...I appreciate you more than you will
ever know...I don't blame you for feeling funny about faving this, Regenia, I
don't expect it...Yes, life can change so quickly ...I actually saw where the doe
was heading toward our windshield but veered up and over the roof of our
car..Our guardian angels were with us and the young man in the car behind
    us who hit the fawn...

Thank goodness everyone is well. It is unfortunate about your vehicle and very sad about the doe and fawn. I must say though it is a well done documentation.

All thanks to God for protecting you and your husband, Andrea! I am so sorry for what took place, but so joyful that you are both uninjuried! I feel terribly sad when these deer and their fawns are killed. I hope it was quick and they didn't suffer. (I'm such an animal lover.) Also hope you will have a new car soon after all this!! It's just impossible to miss the deer when they jump like that! Once again, I am so thankful to know that you are fine and well!!!!!

Thanks again to everyone for your kind words...Linda, we are thankful also
that we went through this without injury or worse...We got the car evaluated
by the Insurance Adjuster for the amount of damage and he agreed it was
totaled and not worth the money to get it fixed...Luckily the Plymouth Laser was an older car and a used one when we bought it.

Andrea, I am so relieved that you folks, and others behind you, were not hurt!! These incidents happen so suddenly and are such a shock to all involved. I am so sorry about the doe and her fawn, it's heartwrenching. But I can imagine what a jolt this has to have been for you folks, and am so thankful that you're okay!
