My brother and I were in Bologna this year and decided to take a walk up to San Luca Monastery. If anyone has attempted this walk through the porticoes, they'll know its not for the faint hearted, especially in the middle of summer.
We were amazed when this old man passed us halfway up. He was stooped over and weathered yet he moved like a 21year old. When we got to the monastery, 40 minutes later, he was kneeling at the altar praying. We were told that he made the trip every day.

This is great shot. Tres Cartier Bresson. I would have liked to have taken it myself. I love the dimensions and the depth and the old man going up the stairs is an amazing touch. You tell us he was like a 21 yr old. He could also have been a crippled old man biding his time until death takes him.
Fantastic photo. I hope to see more of this calibre.
