Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of
more value than many sparrows...St. Luke 12: 7
---------------------------

I shot this picture of the little sparrow in the parking lot of the bank in our town...The building beyond where it was sitting on the brush (not a tooth brush:) is a dental office across the street...which is why there is shallow depth of field between the sparrow and the building...There are many types of sparrows but no two species are alike..
------------------------------

English House Sparrows
Are not known as friends
To the bluebird and the wrens;
Respect they scarcely show
Toward these songbirds rights;
When eggs are destroyed
Or baby birds are flung
Out of their nesting sites....
Making parents unemployed
From job of raising young.
A House Sparrow's self worth
Is to value its own opinion
More than others in dominion,
E'en tho' they share the earth...

    Thank you for the bit of history. I've been seeing birds I've never seen before.

    Thank you everyone for taking the time to comment during this busy time of the year before Christmas...Richard, you ask me how I do this day after day...it is through inspiration and never would I have dreamed of doing this in my younger years when there were no computers or digital cameras to communicate with people around the world.... I am thankful that there are sites like JPG Magazine to make this possible...

    Great shot! It reminds me of the hymn called, "His Eye is on the Sparrow".
