If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people...
St. Luke 2:10
This is a portrait with my parents that I did, using self timer (camera on tripod) on December 24, 1995 ...It was Dad and Mom's 60th wedding Anniversary that Christmas Eve day. I wanted the pictures that I shot of them to be extra special and remember spending part of an afternoon thumb tacking a gray cloth on my folk's dining room wall at the home place, for the background. ..It was a tedious job!:) I was disappointed afterward that the background looked so wrinkled after I had the pictures developed at the photo lab.....This was before digital and photo shop of course..My husband and I spent every Christmas with both of my
folk's up until Dad passed away...Then with Mom who missed him terribly. We
also were invited through the years to a wonderful Aunt and Uncle's place for a Christmas meal. They are both gone now but their hospitality and love to us will be remembered always...
Today I found a snowflake background from my Print master Gold card shop and changed the previous background...It is still; gray, same color, but now with flakes, instead of wrinkles:) I shot other pictures that day, but this portrait was Mom and Dad's favorite. Dad passed away Dec. 21. 2003, from complications of a stroke.. This year mother who turned 101 is at a Nursing Home and if the weather cooperates my husband and I plan to make a trip to see her sometime this month.. So far this has been a very cold month with more snow in the forecast....10 to 16 inches of snow by tomorrow night with 10 to 15 below zero for the next three days.
