Built in the 2nd century B.C., the Basilica within the ancient city of Pompeii was a combination courthouse and business center. Among the ruins of that impressive structure I spotted this little boy looking as if he could see Pompeii before its destruction, following the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D.

Lovely capture, Deborah! I love the brightly colored clothing of the children against the earthtones and rough textures of the pavement and columns. What an interesting and speculative photograph. Very nicely done!!!!

I love the contrasting images of the ancient ruins and the young boys. Their imaginations can take them anywhere; even back to living Pompeii.

Wonderful shot...Interesting how the one child appears to be resting his eyes unlike the other child who is receptive to the scenery around him.
