The music that this snowglobe plays is a very simple piano version of "Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee." Throughout the day, almost every day, one of my boys picks up the snowglobe, winds it, shakes it, and sits down to feel the music. What is he thinking? I wonder. Does he focus on a flake that has landed on Snoopy's nose? Does he imagine how Schroeder's fingers must move across his piano and delicately press each key? Perhaps he simply enjoys the moment. That is reason enough.
