This is a self-portrait I took on September 29th, 2007, moments after hearing the news that my cousin had committed suicide. I took the photo because I couldn't believe how shaken I was by the event. I would cry for minutes, then stop, then start all over again as if I was hearing the news for the first time. Not flattering at all.. no makeup, nose is a little snotty, but completely Real.
