Of late I have been doing more self portraits at the suggestion of Conchita del Mundo..it has been a bit confronting but more and more I have wanted to keep these portraits very real..not necessarily technically proficient as to be honest I know very little about portrait photography...I really wanted them to be about the celebration of individual essence. So often people are not happy to accept themselves for what they are...supposed flaws and all and why does society dictate to us through the media an ideal that is often unattainable especially for women..I say embrace that which is different..choose to be happy and in turn that happiness resonates towards others..
For the record I have a long uneven nose with a dent in it,
2 moles on my face,pointy pixie ears,collarbones that at times resemble a sharp coathanger and veiny old hands..
I wouldn't choose to be any other way...nor would I ever choose to change any of those things.
