LOL! at the age comment. You look like a baby!

I like the way you just confront the camera. A very strong self-portrait, Craig.

Thank you very much for the kind words. I usually loath being in front of the camera, but sometimes I do force myself so to "get over it". 2010 was a really bad year for me and I do feel that I have aged quite a bit in that one year, but in this particular moment, I felt inspired (defiant!) and snapped a couple of quick photos to mark the change. Shot hand-held with available light; I was in my garage with the garage door open which provided and focused the outdoor light... made for a nice catch light in my eyes.

As for the age thing, I know, I know, it's silly and vain to complain of these things. I'm not usually like that. It's just that, growing up over the years, thanks to my Mother's genes, I had always gotten away with looking MUCH younger than I actually am, and now seeing the changes (coupled with the bad year) just makes me... not happy. (Back when I turned 40 people thought I was still in my mid to late 20s; my friends didn't even know my true age! Now that I am approaching 50 in a couple of years I'm all of a sudden looking like I'm in my 40s... and I don't like that math. Wish they would hurry up with the dna-enhancing nanobots already.)

The fact that you love yourself is great, this is an observation from your text above!

The portrait is beautiful, you are in it, so you are interesting to look at, plus a strong character!

Intense self-portrait! Aging is better than the alternative.
