This is a burned, hollowed out log I found recently on a hike in one of my favorite areas, the Withlacoochee State Forest near Lecanto, Florida.
In the story The Water in Wood.

Hi Dennis - this is a great abstract, reminds me of rolling hills or a glacier. Very nice :o)

Did you try to take a very closed macro-shot from that log?
-
Dennis Blauer said (3 Nov 2007):
Matias, no I didn't. I like to take my closeups with my 70- 300mm at full zoom. I like the D.O.F. it gives me. Plus, then I can stand up without getting my knees in some cactus and take it easy on my lower back.

oh. and i think i was using a polarizing filter as well. they work really well with freshly moistened Florida forests where i love to take pictures.

Aptly titled, lovely "fluid" movement in the remains of the old tree.
