This is the main spring, where kayakers and snorklers are enjoying playtime with the manatees. The manatees are usually unafraid and will interact with snorklers. There are stringent laws as to the way swimmers are to behave around manatees, so as not to frighten them. The mothers will flee with their calves, as they shield them from being harassed. It is against the law to pursue a manatee.

Was it you that said there was a "Two fingers law" for touching manatees? Fantastic capture!!

Yes, Mike, they are "supposed" to use only two fingers. I have seen some stoking them with their hands, and the manatees did not seem to mind; but it is the law. The main thing is not to try to trap them, or to pursue them; esp. the cows with babies.
Thanks for the nomination. I really appreciate it. Hopefully, the next time you visit, we will be able to go to the Three Sisters Springs. You, My Friend, would love it.

Thank you for sharing this magic place with us Judy.
Your pictures are awesome as always.

There are some places that should never be developed and left in their natural state.
This is certainly one of those places.
