The entrance of thy words giveth light and it giveth understanding...
Psalms 120: 130

I have never been inside of this Catholic Church but thought the entrance was impressive and shot a picture of it, April 13, 2006, on one of our road trips to visit my mother...It is the site of the first Roman Catholic Church in Barron County.

Please read an informative history of this church at the following link:

A special thank you to Patty Gross for the spotlight...Please visit her
wonderful site.

The architectural style and the red stone are massive and beautiful. What a rich history of faith and actions fueled by that faith. A very inspiring story. Great capture, Andrea!

What a beautiful structure! For having been built in 1904, it certainly looks grand still!!

This is so wonderful, Andrea! The church is obviously one comprised of devout laity and priests. The priest who gave his life attempting to save the Blessed Sacrament (body of Christ) is certainly a martyr. I would love to see inside this magnificant church. The history if very interesting, and I read it with much enthusiasm. I cannot begin to thank you enough for sharing this photograph and history of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church!
