On the last photographic expedition before I left for Arizona I took several photographs of Sidd the Travelin Buddha inside a hollow log laying beside a railroad track northwest of Omaha Nebraska.

Words from the Dhammapada (Words of Wisdom) # 248

tell us this;

Know this, O good man, that evil things are uncontrollable.

Let not greed and wickedness drag you into suffering for a long time.

What this says to us in 2011 is that indeed greed and wickedness are uncontrollable, these elements accost us at every turn every day, often using the subconscious as an entry into our very being.

We can combat these factors by positive interactions with others, helping others and striving for happiness in our own lives as well as helping others obtain happiness. We can achieve this by encouragement and support of others,for positive interaction is like a portal to escaping the negative elements that permeate our society and culture and help us escape suffering for a long time.

A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO MA TERESA BAREDA ROYO FOR THE KIND SPOTLIGHT.

PLEASE CHECK OUT AND SUPPORT HER PHOTOGRAPHS AND THOSE OF HER FAMILY.

    This works SO well, Steven. Love the depth and dimension the log offers to the Buddha while matching its tones of gray... almost as if entering into natural depths of meditation.
