For this theme I couldn’t resist entering the shot I captured in Tobermory, Ontario during the spring of 2006. I originally posted this shortly after I joined JPG in 2008, along with this caption: In early May we sat on a boulder at the tip of Ontario’s Bruce Peninsula, looking out over Georgian Bay. We’d driven from Midland, stopping along the way to commune with nature and poignant ancestral places. Shortly after we reached Tobermory, we scrambled down to a rocky shore to watch the sunset. As the glowing sun slowly slipped toward the horizon, the clean crisp air grew colder, and a hush, like that of countryside blanketed with fresh snow, surrounded us. Then it was as if water, land, and sky got caught up in a fiery embrace, and we with them. And somewhere in the afterglow every scene and encounter of the day merged into a harmonious whole.
