My grandson Ewan's eyes look like a reflection of the Pacific Ocean to me. Sometimes he pleasantly surprises me with his insights. He recently expressed his gratitude that Martin Luther King had opened the door to racial integration. The reason he (at 6 years old) takes it so personally is that, as he put it, "Amelie could not live with us if that didn't happen." Amelie is his older sister, who is adopted, and is biracial. A very deep understanding for one so young.
