It's been nearly a year since this photo was taken. Some of you may remember the first burial of Melvin in February of 2010. Many of you commented, in fact, it is one of my more viewed images. Here is the scene as a vertical of a best friend helping to bury my best dog Melvin.
As I am posting this pain appears again thinking of Melvin but, I put a note in my daytimer as a "to do" for Monday:
It reads: Humane Society, Dog.

It's a god-awful thing to lose a pet...I've done it a lot. The only thing worse I suppose is not having another one to teach us a whole new set of lessons. sorry about yours.
