My sister found my old Skipper doll in one of her boxes 2 years ago, and brought her back to me. I was really happy to see her again after all that time, although I was shocked to see that she had acquired a new haircut at some point during her exile!
My mother had given it to me when I was 5 years old, as a present when I had my tonsils removed. I was a bit disappointed at first, because I would have preferred a Barbie like my friends, and Skipper did not have a womanly figure... However, I did like her red hair very much, which was just like my sister's...
I bought this Brownie Hawkeye camera in a garage sale because it was identical to the one my mom had when I was a kid. It was the first one I ever used, and I remember how I felt so very grown up, holding it at waist level, and trying to compose my shot!
A closer look at the photos scattered around Skipper's feet will certainly betray my age!
