It's still around, but not in the same form. Standard Oil was declared a monopoly and split up into smaller companies: ESSO (pronounced SO...which is now EXXON), Standard Oil of New York (Socony...now Mobil), Standard Oil of Ohio (SOHIO), Standard Oil of Indian (Amoco), and Standard Oil of California (SOCAL...now Chevron) are the major parts created in the split. Love the shot.
