makes me look and say that a painting, a photograph of a painting, people who are painted to look like a painting. Well done.

Yes it's a photograph of one of my paintings. The painting is the subject; basically a still-life photo...not much different than photos of my paper abstractions except the composition was fixed in paint before hand. Sort of the opposite of someone taking a photo of something then using Photoshop or an equivalent to altering the photo so it looks like a painting.

This is more straight forward; real painting...real photograph... both unaltered its very much like shooting a still-life, piece of sculpture, or architecture. The painted image is translated into another medium and becomes something different.

Would enjoy seeing more of your paintings - my training was in painting/ceramics....very interesting to read your perspective. Excellent painting ~ !

Thank you very much Maura. There are other paintings in the slideshow on my zenfolio homepage, and in the galleries there...also drawings and sculpture: (if you go there, be sure to have your speakers on) The first three paintings in the slide show come up right away and are roughly 6 foot in height, The first two are 2 of a series of 5; the third (which looks a bit washed out for some reason...need to reload) is from a series of 3 with a couple smaller sketchier pieces.

Interesting. I thought perhaps it was people who were painted to look like they were a painting. Like Pageant of the masters
