Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.... Psalms 17:5
----------------------------
A wild rabbit
Is in the habit
Of hunkering down
Close to the ground
In freezing temperature,
Nibbling on weeds
Or what they can find
To fill their needs..
Sometimes nature
In the daily grind
Of a Cotton Tail
Is not always kind
On their bunny trail..
Poetry by me, AJP
---------------------------
I shot this picture through the old rolled window behind our kitchen sink when it was just getting dark last night...This little Eastern Cotton Tail was with a companion and they were eating some weeds in back of our house...
My husband said he was going to cut down a poplar tree that is growing in the raspberries bushes so the rabbits can eat the bark. The poor little things get hungry when it is cold and they have a tough existence hunting for food in the winter..This has been an unusually cold and rugged winter this year.

Very sweet little rabbit, Angela. It has been very hard on the wildlife. We're feeding our herd of six white tail deer because they were starving. I'm cutting up apples and we bought another 100 lbs of deer feed today. They were so skinny you could see their ribs. Now they are looking good again. Your husband is very kind to help them out like that. Soon the snows will melt and we'll see the ground again.
